Hosting your first-ever event is stressful and always comes with a lot of doubts: “Am I doing this right?”, “Am I the right person to do this?”, “What if nobody shows up?” I have been hosting events for seven years now, but never for myself and my own business.
The week leading up to it was a mix of emotions: apprehension, excitement, and fear. Plus, it was the week my unborn baby girl decided to throw a little party in my belly right in the middle of the night. It feels like I’m going to give birth to a real party girl! All these doubts are normal and, in the end, definitely positive—they show that it means something to you. And it did. I had never felt so invested and stimulated by something like this before, so the stress of failing was higher than ever.
